Train the Lecturer @ UCT, 8th to 12th December 2014

20 Jan 2015 - 11:30

ESEFA-Partner university lecturers from the University of Botswana, the University of Zambia and the Polytechnic of Namibia attended a Train the Trainer ES Fundamentals with SAP lecturer training course at the University of Cape Town (UCT) in December last year.  The course facilitator was Mr Gwamaka Mwalemba, lecturer in the Department of Information Systems at UCT.

Mr Patrick Wirz (OVGU) and Ms Babett Koch from the SAP UCC at OVGU were also in Cape Town and Babett participated in the lecturer training.

This was the second ESEFA train the lecturer course where lecturers from ESEFA-Partner universities in three different countries participated in the course together. The advantages of having such a mix are obvious said Gwamaka. Each group came with different experiences with regard to teaching of ERP concepts as well as curriculum development. There was also a broad diversity in terms of disciplines. The group consisted of lecturers and experts from Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems as well as Marketing.  Gwamaka added that this allowed for a more interesting and broader discussion on the role of ERP in various industries and how best to develop relevant skills in a way that will benefit the economies of developing countries.
